From Suffrage to Citizenship: Nomination Form
The aim of the Project is to identify and celebrate the lives of 100 women and men who were active in the campaign for extending the vote to all women and who went on to use their extended rights of citizenship in a positive way in their local areas.
To help identify the lives of local pioneers and celebrate what they achieved, people are being encouraged to bring organisations and people together to develop local projects to find out about suffrage pioneers in their own areas and to identify and research the person that they would like to nominate.
Phase 1: Identification of the suffrage pioneers
Wednesday 8 March
March – January 2018
Research into and submission of nominations of suffrage pioneers
* 31 January: Deadline for nominations
An announcement will follow the deadline of the 100 nominees selected for a national focus in phases 2 and 3 alongside continuing local activity (see Phase 2; steps 2 and 3)
The toolkit on this website will give you some ideas of how to find out about a local pioneer and how to research their past. The cameos will indicate some of the pioneers we have identified already.
