Step 2: Your Pioneer
Having made your nomination in Phase 1 in 2017, local projects should bring organisations together again to find out about more about your suffrage pioneer and to develop activities to commemorate the person and her/his achievements. Although we will be selecting 100 for a national focus in 2018, we also want to hear about local community projects that celebrate your nominee, whether in the national 100 or not.
Phase 2: Development of local history and legacy projects
January – June
Central project support for local activity to celebrate and commemorate the 100 nominees
January - June
Local development of the project through research, displays, celebrations, discussions and events
Submission of the local project to celebrate the pioneer and build a legacy of wider civic engagement, especially of women
The toolkit on this website will give you some ideas of how to celebrate and commemorate your local pioneer. Films and stories on this site will highlight some of the local community projects that develop in 2018.
